First Bank of RobinHood plaque, nailed to the back wall 🪶 NOW ON ROBINHOOD CHAIN

THE ORIGINAL BANK
OF ROBINHOOD

Before Vlad built Robinhood, his family banked here. A closet in Varna. Copper pots. Zero downtime since the '90s.

He said it himself — receipts pinned below. Now live on Vlad's own chain.

How a cupboard became a bank.
How a bank became a chain.

In 1990s Bulgaria, as inflation devoured the family savings, Vlad Tenev's grandfather — a doctor for the Bulgarian navy — did what serious institutions do: he converted salary and pension cheques into hard assets and secured them in a vault.

The hard assets were copper pots, sourced from his contacts at the port. The vault was a closet in Varna — so full that cookware fell out when you opened the door. It never lost a customer, never froze a withdrawal, never went down. The original bank of Robinhood was not a fintech. It was furniture.

You think we made this up?

Vlad has told the copper-pot story to anyone who will listen. The receipts are pinned below. Click them.

That was like the 1990s Bulgarian version of Robinhood.

— Vlad Tenev, on the family's copper-pot cupboard, to Axios (2023). Yes. The CEO called the cupboard the original Robinhood. Himself.

That was the store of value.

— Vlad, on the closet in his grandfather's Varna apartment — so full of copper cookware it fell out when you opened the door. Cheeky Pint (2025)

Grandpa was a navy doctor. He knew the guys at the port with the copper.

Paraphrased, but true: by 1997 Bulgarian inflation hit roughly 2,000% — among the highest in the world. Pensions went to zero. Savings accounts evaporated. The pots did not.

The lore is real. The bank is a cupboard. We simply filed the paperwork.

DEPOSIT SLIP — READ CAREFULLY.
Every one of the 1,000,000,000 tokens goes into the Copper Pot Pool at launch. No presale. No team bag. No tax on buys, sells, or transfers. Grandpa's rule: if the tokenomics don't fit on a deposit slip, it's a scam.

How to Cook a Bank
Family Recipe Nº1 · Varna · circa 1990-something · serves: 1 household (yours)

Ingredients

  • 1 sturdy cupboard (oak, stubborn)
  • 47,231 copper pots (assorted sizes)
  • 1 pinch hyperinflation (~2,000%)
  • 1 Grandma (non-negotiable)
  • 1,000,000,000 $CUPBOARD (see reserve audit, one shelf up)

Method

Step 1 — Acquire pots. Season generously with distrust of the lev.
Step 2 — Fold pots into cupboard. Do not stir. Do not sell.
Step 3 — Let rest for 35 years. (100% uptime. Excellent soup.)
Step 4 — Acquire Robinhood. (pending — Vlad has been notified)
Step 5 — Acquire Bulgaria. Serve warm.

Grandma's note

If it burns — HODL. If it boils over — HODL. If a nice man from the bank calls — hang up, he is jealous of the pots.
